Pecan-Crusted Chicken Thighs with a Mouthwatering Sauce! A Family Fav!

Think crunchy, saucy, & mouthwatering… chicken thighs.😋

“Mom, what are we having for dinner?” my 12 year old asked.



“I’m trying a new recipe," I replied, grinning mysteriously.



Instantly her interest was piqued.

And of course, she tries to figure out what it is that I am making. 




Peeking into the oven, she said, “Oh, it’s just chicken pieces.” 🍗



I smiled to myself & didn’t reply.

My friend had shared this amazing Pecan Crusted Chicken w/ a creamy sauce recipe with me the week before & I was excited to see what my family thought.

Thirty minutes later, we sat down to eat.

The chicken was passed and everyone grabbed their piece. 

And then, I passed the sauce & said, “Here’s a new sauce recipe that you can dip your chicken into.”

We are a Huge sauce family or maybe it just comes with the age of my children? 

Either way, everyone perked up and excitedly tried the sauce. One by one, they all exclaimed, “This is amazing!” 

And then, “Mom, what did you put on the chicken?”👀


“Pecans.”

“What?!” Came the baffled but clearly impressed replies. 


Yes, crushed pecans.

Recently, a farmer from Sedgwick came to us wondering if we would sell his friend’s pecans.

 After tasting them, we were delighted to sell them in our Farm Store.

And now, I was having fun learning what different recipes I could use these buttery pecans in.


I know your family will enjoy this chicken recipe as well!

I grinned.

I now have another delicious chicken recipe to add to my collection!

Pecan-Crusted Chicken Legs & Thighs

Dipping Sauce Ingredients:

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. In a shallow bowl, stir together 1 Tbsp. mustard, 1 Tbsp. Cream, & 1 tsp. water.

  3. In another shallow bowl, place chopped pecans

  4. Dip chicken pieces into the mustard-cream bowl, then into the pecan bowl, & transfer into a glass 9x13 baking dish.

  5. Sprinkle with sea salt & pepper.

  6. Drizzle Chicken pieces with olive oil.

  7. Bake for 5 min.

  8. Turn oven down to 300 degrees.

  9. Bake until internal temperature is 165 degrees. (approx. 1 hour.)



Dipping Sauce:

  • In a small sauce pan, stir together 3 Tbsp. heavy cream, 1 Tbsp. mustard, 1 tsp. honey.

  • Cook on low heat for 2-5 min, until slightly thickened.



Dip baked chicken pieces into dipping sauce and Enjoy!
