Hi there😊,

Not sure what to have for dinner?  How about BBQ chicken?? 🍗

In a time when people are social distancing & not sure how to to go about socializing…and  because I fully believe God made us to need each other… what can we do?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sometimes thinking out of the normal can be very hard & exhausting… Let me suggest an outdoor evening bbq with your friends or family! 💃🏻

Top it off with some homemade ice cream 🍨 made from real raw cream… you’ll have the whole neighborhood coming!! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️💨

We are enjoying the fresh chicken we just got from the processor!! Soo yummy! 😋

My husband grilled for the 4th & we all happily dug into the yumminess!!

If you haven’t ordered yours already, now is the time! I’ll be announcing the fresh batch of chickens on FB later this week… Ya’ll get first dibs for being on our email list...so take advantage now!😉

Not sure how to fix BBQ chicken?🍗🍗

Here’s what we did!

  1. I took the thawed pieces & liberally salted the pieces on both sides & let them set on the counter for 15 min. 🧂

  2.  Got the grill fired up.🔥

  3.  After the grill was nice & hot, Loyd placed the chicken pieces on the grill.🍗

  4.  We grilled it on med-high for a minute to seal in the juices, flipped them over & did the other side for a minute & then turned the burners down to low & finished it slowly; basting with apple cider vinegar every 3-4 minutes.

  5. When it was almost done we lathered it with our favorite sauce and cooked it just a minute or two longer to get the BBQ sauce flavor throughout the chicken.

  6. And THEN we Grabbed a plate & enjoyed the farm-fresh goodness!😋😋

Here’s my favorite 2 minute BBQ Sauce recipe:

  • 1 ½ cups ketchup (I get the one without high fructose corn syrup & as few ingred. as possible)

  • 1 Tbsp. raw honey🍯

  • 1 Tbsp. blackstrap molasses

  • 2 tsp. mustard

  • ½ tsp. salt🧂

  • ½ tsp. garlic powder

Stir well. Brush onto your meat pieces. Store leftovers in fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Beef is also back in stock as of today!! All our normal cuts & of course ground beef is gracing our store shelves!🥩

Annnd Honey! 🍯 Yep! The honey guy stopped in the other evening with the first harvest of the season!! It looks so pretty sitting on the shelf again!🥰

Farm News

As for farm news… we’ve got cute little piggies out in the barn again!! 🐖🐖 They are so adorable when we first get them!

Last night, I went to shut off the sprinkler for the garden & checked in on the piggies & quite a few of them were hidden in the straw with their ears & beady eyes peering through the straw checking out the intruder. 🐷🐷😂

Sunday evening we went on a pasture picnic… the goats & cows joined us for a bit. We enjoyed watching them in the dusk. 🐄

Yes, we have goats on our farm for the time being… we had an area grow up with elm trees, so we partnered with an area goat farmer! His goats get fed and our trees get taken down! Win-win!👏🏻

🍅🍅We brought in our first garden tomatoes from the garden… we hope to have some available in the farmstore from our veggie producer soon!! Stay tuned! If you are on FB, be sure to follow us to stay up to date with our selections! Click here to view our online store veggie selection right now!

Thanks for choosing us to be your farm family!! We appreciate you!😍

Enjoy the food!
