Farm Worker Position

We are seeking a person to work on our farm doing daily animal chores.

Heavy-lifting

There is back labor involved and heavy lifting needed. 5 gal. buckets of feed, hay bales, etc.

Hours:

Starting: 7:00-12:00, 5 days a week; occasional weekends  


Pay

Starting wage is $20/hr.

Paid twice a month.

Experience

Previous farm equipment operation would be amazing but not necessary. We are willing to train you if you are willing to put in the effort to learn.




*Please don’t apply if you don’t have a desire to learn how to run a grass-fed dairy operation.

Daily Cow chores (includes but not limited to)

  • Milking cows & washing up

  • Filling mixer wagon & feeding

  • Moving temporary fencing 

  • Seeding trays in fodder room

  • Mowing pastures thru the growing season

  • Scraping manure from concrete areas

  • Spread wood chips in free-stall barn

  • Moving manure

  • Fence maintenance

  • Dairy barn maintenance

  • Feed and move temporary fence for calves

  • Feed and monitor non milking pregnant cows


Daily Pig chores

  • Feeding

  • Bedding


Machinery that will be used:

Tractors, skid loader, UTV,  manure spreader, mower, feed grinder, etc.

Employee prospect must:

  • Be honest, hardworking, and passionate about raising healthy foods for our communities.

  • Be willing to operate farm equipment

  • Be willing to work outside in any kind of weather

  • Be aware the work can be physically demanding and dynamic in responsibilities

  • Have a cell phone ... easy to get a hold of 

  • Be ok working alone but also sharing some space with other team members…

  • Be willing to be in charge of the farm chores when the family goes on vacation

  • Be 18+ years old

  • Drivers license & personal transportation required.
