Why do we need real, healthy, & life-giving meats?
The simple answer... so we can live energetic, healthy, & productive lives.
We are only as healthy as the food we eat.
For me, nutrition starts with filling my freezer with high-quality, grass-fed, nutrient-dense meats that keep me healthy.
Real meat is life-giving and energizing.
Our animals are happy, healthy, and exactly what you want to be feeding your family.
Vaccines
"Do you give mRNA vaccines to your beef?"
My email inbox has exploded with this question in recent months.
The answer is No.
Our meat is Vaccine-Free.
We do not give our beef any vaccines.
Recently, I was made aware how rare this is. I searched far & wide looking for beef that wasn’t vaccinated with the “normal” calf vaccines.
Sadly, I realized very, very few farmers are not vaccinating their calves.
I asked “why?”
These are a few reasons they gave:
You can raise more animals on a piece of land when you are constantly giving vaccines and meds.
Soils are depleted of nutrition, this is a way of taking care of our cattle.
Forefathers did it. Farmers and ranchers are proud generational people. If grandpa did it, it’s the way to do it.
Vets will tell you your calves need vaccines to survive.
Conventional sale barns will only sell vaccinated calves.
Researching this made me realize again how thankful I am for our meat.
Here at Borntrager Dairy we are committed to regenerative agriculture.
Regenerating our soils makes a huge difference in having healthy animals.
Thriving pastures can handle more animals per acre.
Thriving pastures will produce the plants that animals need to self-medicate.
Yes, it does take more time & effort from the farmer/rancher to not vaccinate.
You need to know your animals and have an understanding of your soils. This costs time and money.
We believe it’s worth it.

Our beef are born & raised right here on our farm. We know exactly what goes into their tummies every day.
First 4 months: Raw milk plus pasture grasses/organic hay
Warm months: pasture grasses
Cold months: we give them organic hay
Last few months before harvest: we add in organic barley sprouts we raise on our farm. This helps them to finish out well.
That’s it. No grains, no vaccines.
You can be confident, what we are selling is what we feed our family.
