Thanksgiving Day is this week!!
What food comes to mind when you think of Thanksgiving Day?? Turkey?? Mashed potatoes??
For me, I always look forward to the dressing, my mom & my mother-in-law make amazing chicken dressing…
so regardless which side of the family we get together with... we get yummy chicken dressing!!😋
And then there’s the dessert….😍
Now, we LOVE pie but I often kinda cringe at all the sugar that goes into making a pie...
so my search began...
Could I make a pie with honey in place of sugar?? 🧐
Melissa & I decided to try it...
She found 1 recipe she wanted to try & I wanted to take my tried & true recipe from my mom & revise it.
So we made 2 pies!!😉 (Nobody minded!)
We made the pies in the evening & then refrigerated them overnight and taste tested at lunch the next day.
Well, Melissa's pie (pictured) got first prize.😏🤗
They were both VERY yummy!
We decided if you are looking for a traditional recipe, mine was the best candidate.
But if you wanted something more unique & original, Melissa nailed it with her oh soo creamy pumpkin cheesecake pie!!
AND the BEST part (at least for me!)... it worked to use honey in place of the sugar!!
Have you found that perfect recipe for your pies??
Or are you still looking, like I was??
Look no further!
Here are TWO FREE Pumpkin Pie Recipes + the Crust Recipe (delicious!) we used!!💝
Oh! Another important detail...
Be sure to use REAL CREAM for your finishing touch to your Thanksgiving pie!
The store boughten stuff just doesn't cut it! (And isn't great for your body either!)
Growing up we always used the real raw cream for our pie toppings... Yum!!
We would always fight over who got to lick the beaters, spatula, & bowl after Mom was done with it!!
(And often we would beg her to leave some in the bowl yet!)😍 Memories...
